                                                Second show is at 1pm

Students do not stay after school on Thursday.  They go home on the bus, and return by 6:15pm to get into costume.

The school shows are for students only.  Parents are not allowed at these performances because of the lack of space.

                                                Final Performance is at 7pm.  The doors to the cafeteria open at 6pm.  We will continue the tradition of auctioning three rows of seats for the evening performance.  

           

            Following the evening performance, we will need volunteers to help strike the set.  It will take about 1 hour.  We will also have a party for the cast and crew immediately following the performance in the gym. Everyone is invited to attend.  The evening usually wraps up between 9 and 10 pm.

WE ARE MONSTERS

The entire cast is listed below, but here are the BIG parts:

KC - strong actor and singer
Oozy Lumpa - VERY strong singer (boy or girl)
Jade, Westerly, Vank - all solos
Vanny, Valissa, Vreddy, Varah - all smaller solo parts

Cast List - We are Monsters

We Are Monsters is a very much an “ensemble” show. Although the HUMANS and OOZY LUMPA are the most featured characters, the majority of the show features the WEREWOLF and VAMPIRE ensembles. Within the ensembles are many opportunities for speaking and singing solos.

The majority of parts are gender-neutral, giving you ultimate flexibility.

HUMANS

KC is Sunny’s older, cooler brother/sister.
JADE is the leader of the humans and the biggest monster fanatic.
WESTERLY is the brainy and scientific monster expert.
SUNNY is KC’s little brother/sister that tags along.

MONSTERS

TARGOYLE AND FARGOYLE are the monster hosts of the cabaret.
OOZY LUMPA is the “slimy” monster with a beautiful heart.

WEREWOLVES

TOOTH is a leader of the werewolves.
MOONFACE is the drill sergeant of the werewolves.
FURR-BALL longs for his/her moment in the spotlight.
SNARLEY stands up for his/her fellow werewolf Furr-Ball.
GROWLY motivates Puffy to stand up for him/herself.
PUFFY is the smallest of the werewolves.
GRIZZLY loves howl-offs.
WEREWOLVES 1-3 we overhear them discussing their monster outrage.
WEREWOLF ENSEMBLE (optional and flexible)

VAMPIRES

VLADIMIR is the spokesperson and leader of the Vampires.
VAZEL is confident of his/her Vampire looks.
VALEXA is the hip, cool and trendy Vampire.
VANK is deeply bothered by humans and their influence.
VREDDY and VARAH, VANNY and VALISSA are featured singing Vampires.
VAMPIRES 1-4 cannot hold back their urge when they see food.
VAMPIRE ENSEMBLE (optional and flexible)

Norwegian Dance

In third grade we've been reviewing form with Grieg's "Norwegian Dance."  We described our A section as piano and calm, while our B section was forte and crazy!!!  We used the parachute to keep the beat in the A section ("washing machine" movements) and crazy ripples for the B section.

Appalachian Spring

Next week the 5th grade will begin listening to Appalachian Spring which is inspired the Shaker tune, "Simple Gifts."
